National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization
當癌症末期所有的治療停止時，醫生通常把病人轉介給安寧療護（Hospice）的機構照顧。這些安寧療護機構也是遍及美國各地，主要是提供末期癌症病人在最後這段人生路程中身體上的護理及精神上的支持。這些提供安寧照顧的護理人員會定期到家裡來探訪病人的需要，協助減輕病人身體上的疼痛，和確保病人有比較好的生活品質。安寧療護機構的成員多半是有經驗的護理人員。大部份健康保險公司支付所有的費用。不然，有些非營利(non-profit)的安寧療護也會服務那些沒有健康保險的病人或按病人的收入計費。
